Jeff Patton

Background
Jeff began his media career early, as a university newspaper reporter and TV scriptwriter in Los Angeles, while pursuing his first degree, a BSc in Mass Communications. Since then his media experience has included work as: circulation manager for a French-language magazine servicing 250,000 subscribers worldwide, managing editor for a corporation in San Diego, and freelance writer and videographer on Vancouver Island. Jeff has produced On the Water, a series of 12 video shorts, and a variety of educational, business, and promotional web videos and DVDs for commercial and non-profit enterprises. He is a BC professionally certified teacher who understands the power of a story to educate and inspire. Jeff and Jeremiah started up Cinnabar Vista Productions in September 2005 in Nanaimo, B.C.
In a Previous Life
Jeff's work in the business sector includes experience as a residential income property broker in Beverly Hills, California. He understands the needs of business and non-profit organizations from firsthand experience and coursework in marketing and management. His wealth of research and writing know-how, and media experience, coupled with good business sense gives him powerful tools to help you tell your story and reach your target audience. Jeff is prepared to use his media savvy, writing expertise, and broad skill base to produce a script and video that will interest, inform, and inspire your audience.
Passions
On a personal note, Jeff is an "Eagle Scout" who is equally at home hiking the rugged Juan de Fuca Trail on Vancouver Island, driving in the fast lane of the Los Angeles freeways or London's M25, wandering through small villages on the backroads of Europe, combing the ancient Roman ruins of Pafos, Cyprus, driving across North America, or navigating the Tube in London or the Metro in Paris. In the global market place it is important to be well-traveled, well-read and well-versed in media trends. Jeff can bring his multi-faceted expertise to your next project.

Jeremiah Patton

Background
Jeremiah began his video career with courses in advanced video editing at the backlot of Universal Studios in Orlando with InVision Digital, and continues its enrichment in the Vancouver Island University’s Graphic Arts degree program in which he is an honours student who won (in 2010) a cash prize for excellence in graphic design photography. His teachers have noted his ability to direct a film crew and “get the job done” on time and with finesse.
Jeremiah is also an Apple-certified Final Cut Pro video editor. With an unusual gift among video editors, Jeremiah combines an editor’s eye for precise storytelling, an artist’s flair for the creative, and a musician’s ear to synchronize the sound track’s musical rhythm with what’s happening visually.
Awards
Most recently Jeremiah's directorial debut was in the E.J. Hughes documentary. This work was recognized at the Houston International Worldfest Film Festival, winning a Gold Remi in the arts and culture category! The E.J. Hughes documentary also received a nomination as best one-hour HD documentary by the Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Foundation of British Columbia. At the E.J. Hughes Restoration premiere, Jeremiah's work received a standing ovation from more than 200 people packing the Shaw Auditorium in the Vancouver Island Convention Centre. Jeremiah's talent has also been recognized for a TV pilot and several corporate videos. This other award-winning work by Jeremiah includes: directing and editing the half-hour TV pilot, Island Time in Bamfield, for which he earned a Silver Remi at the 2007 WorldFest Film Festival in Houston; while in 2008 he won two Gold Remi awards at WorldFest for videos entered in the Sports and Promotion categories. Such professional recognition is a noteworthy accomplishment for a man at the beginning of his career.
