Film Festival
-
The judges of
the 2008 WorldFest Film Festival in Houston, Texas, awarded Cinnabar
Vista
Productions two prestigious Gold
Remi Awards! The Nanaimo-based video production company won gold
in the festival’s Sports category for its video Mosaic
of Memories about the 2007 Nanaimo B.C. Seniors Games. Cinnabar Vista
also took gold in the Promotional/Advertising category for its
video about the 2007 Vancouver Island International Children's
Festival. The principle partners of Cinnabar Vista Productions
are Jeff Patton, Jeremiah
Patton,
and Rob Hasanen.
- At last year's
WorldFest, Cinnabar Vista Productions won a Silver Remi in the Travel
and Tourism category for its TV pilot program Island Time in
Bamfield.
- Hunter Todd,
executive director of the festival, notified Jeff Patton,
Cinnabar Vista’s producer, on May 3rd of the award saying, “Dear
Jeff, on behalf of the Board of Directors and Executive Staff of the
40th Annual WorldFest-Houston International Film & Video Festival...Our
sincere congratulations! Out of more than 4,500 international category
entries in the 10 major Remi Award Competitions, you are a Remi Winner!”
- In explaining
the level of achievement that Cinnabar Vista Productions scored with
their
two Gold Remi's, Mr. Todd noted, “It is
very difficult to win a single Remi in WorldFest... with so many
entries, only
about 15-20% are good enough to win the Remi Award for Creative Excellence—and
for you to take two Gold Remi's is indeed noteworthy.
- WorldFest's award,
“the Remi” takes its name from the famous artist Frederick Remington,
who captures
the spirit of Texas and the West with his brilliant
paintings and sculptures! In some categories there may be more
than one winner at any level, due to ties in scoring. In other categories,
no awards are made because the entries did not score high enough
to earn a Remi Award.”
- A QuickTime movie of the award-winning Vancouver Island Children's
Festival is posted on Cinnabar Vista Productions website: www.cinnabarvista.com.
