A
fascinating program for those who love to enjoy life On the Water!
The “On
the Water” program series is all about sailing, paddling,
and power boating—how to have fun and/or make a living on
the waters off Vancouver Island. Each program is approximately
6 minutes
long and at present we have completed 12 episodes. Our partnership
retains all rights to this production.
These
interesting, short features include stories that are about:
•
the Silva Bay Shipyard School on Gabriola Island where traditional
wooden boat building skills are still taught,
• the competitive and social sport of Dragon Boat Racing put on by the
GO Rowing and Paddling Organization of Vancouver Island,
• the
Canadian Open Sand Sculpturing Competition held in beautiful Parksville,
• the incredible
Silly
Boat Races of Nanaimo sponsored by the Child Development Society,
• the
Nanaimo
Bathtub Races,
• kayaking
to the Winchelsea Islands off Schooner’s Cove with Kevin Floyd of Alberni
Outpost,
• the Sea Cadets
sailing the coast aboard HMCS Oriole,
• off-shore yacht cruising around the Gulf Islands,
• making the rounds at night with the Harbour Watch of Nanaimo to keep
boats and marinas safe,
• and
more!
